MOSAIC 019 — Fuji X-Pro 4 & Sony A7V Have Arrived
Plus: Canon is bankrupt, Nikon's 175 megapixel medium format camera, RED cameras are now $500, and everything on the internet is true.
APRIL FOOLS’, YA FILTHY ANIMALS.
What, did you think we just wouldn’t get in on the fun?! This week’s headlines may be bogus, and we’re sorry for that; it’s mostly just our desperation for an X-Pro 4 talking. But now that you’re here, we’ve got some real good stuff to share with you.
Today’s issue has everything from ACTUAL camera news, like RED’s crazy price drop and Canon’s new vlogging cameras, all the way to wall clocks, unicorn horns, and the Lumon Terminal Pro on Apple’s website. Plus, our new Artist of the Month!
Thanks for being here. Dive in, get lost, and enjoy.
The gold standard of business news
Morning Brew is transforming the way working professionals consume business news.
They skip the jargon and lengthy stories, and instead serve up the news impacting your life and career with a hint of wit and humor. This way, you’ll actually enjoy reading the news—and the information sticks.
Best part? Morning Brew’s newsletter is completely free. Sign up in just 10 seconds and if you realize that you prefer long, dense, and boring business news—you can always go back to it.
THE RUNDOWN:
ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Our pick for April’s “Artist of the Month” is photographer and YouTuber, Chris Tellez. Based in Waterloo, ON, Canada, Chris’s work spans a variety of genres that are all human-centric; as he likes to say, “if there’s a person involved, I’m photographing it.”
Chris’s intentionality behind his photo work is even more tangible when he steps out from behind the camera to record YouTube videos. He brings an earnest kindness to his videos that is so refreshing to watch, and he speaks with humility about his insights as a working professional. We’re huge fans of Chris, and we think you’ll love him, too.
PULSE CHECK

Pulse Check is our way of keeping a finger on the heartbeat of the creative industry. Everything from breaking news to announcements or videos that might have slipped under the radar, this curated list will keep you in the know.
RED slashed Komodo prices by $2,000, putting it in direct competition with the Blackmagic PYXIS.
Canon officially released the Powershot V1 and R50V, and it’s got us thinking of the Casey Neistat vlogging days.
Sony’s new VENICE Extension System Mini is mind-blowingly small and can go where other cine cameras only dream of.
OFF-SCRIPT
Every now and then, it feels good to get lost down a few rabbit holes. Off-Script is our catch-all for exactly that; a random assortment of objects, products, music, books, tools, and inspiration we’re finding in our day-to-day.
These clocks from DWR are the perfect modern splash of color for a home.
Matt D’avella’s best travel tip? Don’t buy stuff you don’t need.
This unicorn horn from Craighill x A24 is the perfect movie gag gift.
Yes, we’re still thinking of the Severance S2 finale, and YES, the Lumon Terminal Pro on Apple’s website is the coolest easter egg ever.
I GUESS THIS IS…*
*Goodbye, but after the April Fools’ stunt we pulled, you’re probably happy to see us go. Don’t worry; we’ll back, right here, this time next week.
