MOSAIC 016 — Creative Book Club

Our favorite books for leisure, learning, and everything in between.

HI, HELLO, HOW ARE YA?

If you’re anything like us, odds are, you need a little bit of “me” time. I’m sure all of you could fill in the blank with dozens of ways to do that. Ours, you ask? Reading. After a long week of pouring ourselves into our work, we find that one of the best ways to refill is to shut down all screens and get lost in some good ‘ol paper and ink.

In honor of that, this week’s issue is short and sweet — a curated selection of some of our favorite books in recent memory. We believe that a good book can be magical, and our hope is that you ultimately find something restorative in one of these stories.

Take care of yourselves. We’ll see you soon.

  • Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara — a feel-good phenom that will leave you aspiring to do good in the world (bonus: the audiobook version is narrated by Will and it’s so good).

  • Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zavin — just read this.

  • The Only One Left by Riley Sager — a gripping thriller that twists and turns until the literal last page.

  • Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman — self-development in a practical, down-to-earth way.

  • Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir — a sci-fi epic that dives deep on the definition of friendship.

  • First Lie Wins by Ashley Elton — part Ocean’s Eleven, part Catch Me if You Can, this thriller propels you through every single page.

  • Right Thing, Right Now by Ryan Holiday — because our character, deeds, and values should always guide the way we work as artists, and people.

  • Think Again by Adam Grant — being wrong isn’t always inherently bad; it might actually be one of the best ways to learn.

  • Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson — filled to the brim with Knives Out energy, this hilarious mystery is an absolute delight.
