ARTIST OF THE MONTH

February’s AOTM is one of our favorite multi-disciplinary creatives; Obiekwe Okolo. 

Based in the greater D.C. area, Obi’s creative career sprawls across a beautiful landscape of mediums. His portraiture and documentary photo work has been displayed in exhibitions and galleries, his written work has been published in multiple magazines and online journals, and his commentary on culture, identity, and reconciliation is what ties it all together. He also has one of the best record collections you’ve ever seen, keeps his Hasselblad 501C on hand at all times, and could easily open his own restaurant if he wanted to.

It’s no small feat to have a distinct voice across a variety of platforms. You can see Obi’s fingerprints on everything he touches; his intentionality is what sets him apart, and it is breathtakingly beautiful. Do yourself a favor, and click below to see the vastness of his work.
